Lightshare is a Homeshare service which brings together two individuals who can support one another with the aim of improving quality of life. An older individual who would like some companionship or help at home is matched with a kind, caring and trustworthy Homesharer. A Homesharer provides up to ten hours of support each week and can support with cooking, shopping, light cleaning, outings, companionship, technical support, laundry, overnight presence and more. In exchange for this help, the Householder provides the Homesharer with free accommodation – usually a spare room in a safe and comfortable living environment.

About Homeshare
Homeshare helps people to stay independent in the places they love to live and builds community connections. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement with both people having something they need and something to give.
Homeshare brings two people together to share a home; typically, someone who needs help to live independently in their own home (a householder) is matched with someone who has a housing need (a homesharer). In return for affordable accommodation, the homesharer provides around ten hours of support per week to the householder.
