Good Practice Element 4 – Safety

Introduction

In addition to self-assessing your Homeshare scheme against the Homeshare UK Quality Assurance Framework you will also be asked to provide a range of evidence that demonstrates you are able to meet the requirements of this element.

You are required to either upload relevant documents and/or provide clear and concise narrative that explains how your organisation is working to achieve the requirements of the Quality Assurance Framework.

Please note your scheme must be able to demonstrate that they fully meet the Good Practice and Sound Process section of the element to meet baseline standards of the Quality Assurance framework.

For this element suitable evidence might include:

  • employers, public liability and professional indemnity Insurance certificates.
  • evidence that both Householders and Homesharers are assessed for their suitability to participate in the scheme
  • participant satisfaction surveys/focus groups that indicate that participants  and wider stakeholder groups feel confident that risks associated with the scheme are managed effective and they feel safe being involved.
  • your risk register or evidence that a risk register is being maintained and regularly reviewed
  • safeguarding training for staff
  • nominated person to update the risk register and a practice and process in place to ensure that risk is regularly reviewed and monitored.
  • job description of relevant staff should include reviewing current legislation
  • data storage policy and practice
  • DBS checks and references are taken up for Staff and Homesharers

We would also like you to share evidence in relation to this element that will support learning for the network and key stakeholders interested in developing or supporting Homeshare:

 

  • any documented case studies highlighting safeguarding issues.
