last modified on 24 October 2016

Guidance notes

Monitoring and evaluation is essential for any scheme that is committed to providing high quality services in an effective way.

Your aims and objects will dictate what you need to monitor.

Monitoring and evaluation will help you to:

  • Assess what practice and processes are working well
  • Demonstrate the success of your scheme
  • Gather evidence that will help you to improve your scheme.

For this element of Good Practice you will need to demonstrate that the scheme is:

  • Actively monitoring key elements of the schemes practice
  • Collecting and monitoring basic data in relation to participants
  • Measuring progress against scheme outcomes
  • Able to demonstrate impact.
