Good Practice Element 3 – Practice, Policy and Process

last modified on 24 October 2016

Guidance notes

It’s important to understand the potential target market for your schemes. This will enable you to develop the scope of what you will deliver and appropriate practice, process and policy.

Areas to consider include:

  • Populations, groups and the geographical area of your scheme
  • Transport links
  • Eligibility for participation
  • Evidence of unmet local support  and housing needs
  • The key elements of delivery for your scheme.

For this element of good practice you will need to demonstrate

  • That your target market is based on relevant research and there is a clearly defined need.
  • That there is practice and process in place to demonstrate that the key elements of the scheme have been considered and good practice has been identified in the delivery of each element.
  • That you have the policies needed to ensure that the scheme is effective and safe.
